Awesome Canadian Lacrosse Brawl

I think this could be described as a donnybrook. Ron Burgundy might call it ‘a vicious cockfight’. Whatever you want to call it, I bet you haven’t seen anything like it before: a wicked lacrosse brawl!

Dig these cats even throwing off their helmets to go at it! Warriors, I tell you!!

Mickelson Favored Over Kuchar, Scott at Byron Nelson [Odds]

The PGA Tour heads to Texas this week for the 2012 HP Byron Nelson Championship, where old-timer Phil Mickelson is a slight betting favorite at 10/1 over fellow American Matt Kuchar and Australian Adam Scott. Kuchar is coming off a big win last weekend at The Players Championship, while Scott won the Byron Nelson back in 2008. Mickelson is also a past winner here, but that came way back in 1996.

Here are your 2012 HP Byron Nelson Championship Odds for all the top competitors:

  • Phil Mickelson, USA (World Ranking: 10) 10/1 – Won 1996 Byron Nelson
  • Matt Kuchar, USA (5) 12/1
  • Adam Scott, Australia (13) 12/1 – Won 2008 Byron Nelson
  • Jason Day, Australia (15) 18/1 – Won 2010 Byron Nelson
  • Keegan Bradley, USA (22) 18/1
  • Louis Oosthuizen, South Africa (14) 20/1
  • Jason Dufner, USA (21) 22/1

Tiger Woods In Danger Of Missing Second Straight Cut

The struggles of Tiger Woods continued on Thursday as he shot a 2-over 74 in the first round of The Players Championship in Florida, leaving him in a tie for 100th place and nine shots behind co-leaders Ian Poulter and Martin Laird. Tiger missed the cut at last week’s Wells Fargo Championship in Quail Hollow, marking only the eighth time in his career that he’s missed a cut.

Now he’ll need a pretty good Friday to avoid missing a second straight cut. “It was just one of those days,” said Tiger, but he still sounded a few hopeful notes after Thursday’s round. “Obviously in the last few months, I’ve put together some good rounds. So it’s there.”

2012 Players Championship Odds: McIlroy Favored

Many of the world’s best golfers will be in action this week in Florida at the unofficial fifth major, The Players Championship. World Number One Rory McIlroy is the +900 betting favorite after falling to Rickie Fowler in a playoff at last week’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow. Right behind McIlroy are two other recent World Number Ones, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood.

Two familiar names have the best odds of the Americans in the field: Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson at +2000. Tiger will surely be motivated after missing the cut last week at Quail Hollow. Both Tiger and Phil have won here before, as have Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia.

Here are your 2012 The Players Championship odds for all the top competitors:

  • Rory Mcilroy, Northern Ireland (World Ranking: 1) 9/1
  • Luke Donald, England (2) 14/1 – Finished tied for second at the 2005 Players Championship
